Who can use the service?: Applicants must satisfy eligibility conditions as laid down by the Department of Social Protection
(Generally for VTOS this means applicants must be 21 at the course start date and in receipt of a social welfare payment for 6 months / 156 days).
Applicants complete a short English test and interview to establish suitability for courses.

Students may be eligible for partial crèche fees under the Training and Education Childcare Programme (TEC). The objective of the TEC Programmes is to support parents on eligible training courses and eligible categories of parents returning to work, by providing subsidised childcare places.

VTOS offers a return to education and training for unemployed people at QQI (FETAC) Level 5.
We have 28 years’ experience in providing second chance education and training opportunities in Finglas.
Programmes offered include Healthcare, Childcare, Computers and Professional Cookery. We hope to start a “Return to Learning” programme in September 2018.
Our part time options include: social care, horticulture, office administration, digital media, catering and sport.
Suitable graduates of our fulltime and part time programmes may progress to Level 5 or Level 6 programmes in VTOS, to PLC programmes, or to further education or training at third level.
